This project usees individual, anonymised, locality specific social care records, combined with national population models and derived health, social and economic indicators, to provide detailed analysis and recommendations which can improve the planning and running of an efficient social care system.
Through a highly secure Trusted Data Exchange we access confidential individual social care records and apply advanced Bayesian network techniques to create statistical models which will demonstrate the relationships and dependencies that can be used to improve the planning and management of social care.
We aim to realise four outcomes:
1. Supporting service and infrastructure planning
Using data on historic demand and provision to give local authorities a sophisticated understanding of need, so assisting with service and financial planning and facilitating planning for staffing and facilities.
2. Forecasting impact
Using historical data we can evaluate the impact of proposed policy management interventions in near to real time.
3. Commissioning services
Drawing on data on historic demand, correlated with other data we will use a statistical model of likely future need to assist in commissioning services.
4. Performance analysis
Using national and locally derived data to benchmark care agency and local authority performance, including analysis by factors such as localities or user condition, to better manage service provision
