Introduction
Since Philip Hammond’s announcement in March of 2017 that the government would publish a social care green paper by the end of the same year, that date has now been delayed five times with no guaranteed publication date in sight. Over two years on from that statement and social care in England is generally regarded as being in crisis.
Southampton based data analytics company, NquiringMinds is working with the Southern Policy Centre to provide an in-depth and detailed analysis of the state of adult social care within the UK. This project, supported by Innovate UK, applies artificial intelligence and statistical techniques to help better understand the pattern of need, map service usage within different areas and develop a tool to predict future service demand, assist in commissioning provision and help review delivery.
